Created for Northway Church’s Prayer & Worship Art Gallery during Holy Week, The Art of Letting Go reflects the deeply personal journey of learning to fully depend on God — releasing the weight of former things and trusting Him to lead us into what is new.
In this symbolic painting, the figure does not remain turned toward what is behind her. Though traces of muted tones still linger in the landscape, they no longer define her story. Instead, she reaches for her brushes and begins to paint the sky in vivid color and warm amber light. This act of painting becomes an act of surrender — a response of faith.
She is not rewriting her story alone, but participating in the new work God is already unfolding. Choosing hope. Choosing trust. Choosing to see with redeemed eyes.
This piece draws inspiration from the promise in Isaiah 43:18–20:
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”
Printed from the original artwork, this piece is meant to serve as a daily visual reminder that God is always at work — bringing renewal, beauty, and light even in seasons of transition.
