“Renaissance of the Heart” inspired by Isaiah 43:18-19
This piece is a meditation on renewal, identity, and the sacred beauty of moving forward in faith. Inspired by Isaiah 43:18–19 —
"Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?" —
this drawing invites the viewer into a story suspended between what has been and what is yet to come.
She pauses on the edge of the open land, casting one last glance over her shoulder at the castle behind her. Once a place of memory—both shelter and sorrow—it now stands quiet, perhaps even crumbling with time. There is a temptation to linger, to hold on to what was. But the words of Isaiah echo in her heart: “Do not dwell on the former things…” Her gaze shifts forward, not because the path ahead is clear, but because she trusts the One who goes before her. Though the landscape is untamed and unknown, she walks into it with quiet courage, knowing God is already at work—making a way where there seems to be none. What lies ahead may not yet be visible, but the promise is: “See, I am doing a new thing.”
Her gown—graceful and strong, with detailed stitching and lacing—was inspired by the Renaissance Memories dress by ArmStreet, whose craftsmanship brings historical depth and tactile realism to the scene. The wind catches the folds of her skirt as if creation itself is urging her forward.
This work belongs to the Medieval Collection, a series that reimagines historical settings as spiritual metaphors. Each piece in the collection explores the timeless themes of calling, surrender, and transformation through a lens of historical beauty and biblical truth.
“Renaissance of the Heart” reflects not only a visual journey but a spiritual one—an invitation to trust that even in the desolate places, God is already at work doing something new.
